Holly

Cheryl first saw “Holly” at Rawhide Ranch where she came to find a new home. Her previous training as a reining horse wasn’t working out because Holly had gotten too dang tall, but she was perfect for one of Cheryl’s students! Holly spent the next 8 years or so teaching her young rider many things and taking her to the winner’s circle at too many shows to count. Holly and Athena won: 4H State Champion Jr. English Rider, YLCR Champion English Rider 14-18 many years over and the YLCR Perpetual Trophy Winner. Holly left CRK for awhile to prusure a career in the Jumper arena, but a hoof injury cut short what was a very successful season. After some time to rest and heal Holly returned to work, but her jumper days were over.

When her owner grew up and married, Holly came to CRK to teach a whole new group of riders.  Holly’s favorite thing to do is jump, but she is happy going western or working trail obstacles. Holly is a 23 year old, AQHA sorrel mare, she stands 15.3 hands tall and weighs approx. 1000 lbs.
